FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the Desktools Table different from standard stands?
Most stands are mass-produced from thin-gauge steel or plastic. Our table is a study in material contrast: we use Grade A solid teak—valued for its natural oils and durability—and marry it to precision-bent, matte-black aluminum. Each piece is hand-finished, ensuring that no two units have the exact same grain pattern.
What grade of teak do you use?
We exclusively use sustainably sourced Grade A teak. This is the highest quality part of the teak tree, known for its consistent golden-brown color, close grain, and natural weather resistance. It is hand-polished to a smooth, matte finish.
What is your policy on wood grain variations?
Because every Desktools Table is handcrafted from natural solid teak, each unit possesses a unique grain structure and color tone. These natural variations are a hallmark of authenticity and are not eligible for returns or replacements as defects. We celebrate these differences as the "soul" of the product.
Does the wood age or change over time?
Yes. Grade A teak is a living material that ages with you. Over time, the natural oils will react with air and light to deepen the wood's character, creating a rich patina unique to your environment. It is a piece designed to evolve alongside your workspace.
What is the purpose of the geometric cutouts in the handles?
The signature geometric cutouts are an exercise in functional minimalism. Beyond their aesthetic appeal, they serve as ergonomic grip points for effortless movement. By strategically removing material, we have optimized the total weight for better portability without sacrificing structural rigidity, while also providing passive cooling for your device.
How does the table stay stable without silicone grips?
Stability is achieved through weighted precision. The combined 1.2kg mass of the solid teak and aluminum framework ensures the table remains rock-solid during use. The hand-polished surfaces are designed to sit flush against any professional desk mat or wooden surface, relying on material quality rather than synthetic adhesives for grip.
Which laptops are compatible with the table?
The 17-inch surface is optimized for all laptops up to 15 inches. This includes the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro (13", 14", and 15" models), as well as premium PC workstations like the Dell XPS or Microsoft Surface.
Do you ship to the UK and USA?
Yes. We offer complimentary worldwide shipping, with specialized logistics for our customers in the United Kingdom and the United States to ensure your table arrives safely and swiftly.
What does the 4-year warranty cover?
We stand by our craftsmanship for the long haul. Our 4-year limited warranty covers any structural defects in the aluminum framework or the integrity of the teak joints. It does not cover natural wood patina evolution, grain variations, or accidental damage.
